I believe micro wedding photography is about really capturing a couples relationship authentically, in a place that makes them feel warm and alive, with the people they love most in the world. I’m not referring to the temperature either. When I say “warm,” I’m talking about that feeling you get when you’re somewhere safe and special-that feels like home, without actually being home. You know?
The moments that make us feel the most “alive” are the ones worth living in a life where days become a blur.
So get ready to dive into my out-of-this-world gorgeous Sevierville micro wedding, in the beautiful state of Tennessee.

I don’t know if I will ever be able to fully articulate the appreciation and genuine love I have for shooting micro weddings, but what I can say is when Sean and Emma asked me to photograph their intimate day in the mountains of Sevierville Tennessee, I found myself get a little emotional. The fact that they would trust me with photographing such a significant and vulnerable chapter in their lives meant the absolute world to me.
Meet Emma & Sean, my very adventurous, down to earth, and hard-working couple –
whose love story began in my beloved home state of Michigan.

When they sent me the link to their venue in Sevierville, I think I actually squealed. I knew it would be beautiful, but gosh it was something else entirely. It looked like the setting that you would see flash across the screen of some magical fairytale. The mountains were obviously incredible, but there was something quite memorable about the cabin, as well. This intimate rustic vibe you couldn’t shake off because it was a location worth remembering.
They described wanting an intimate micro wedding, where they would have about 20 guests. They wanted to really enjoy their wedding day, with their favorite people. Because they loved traveling & the mountains, especially – Sevierville was the place to do it.
Nothing beats getting married in the Smoky mountains.

The morning was quiet and perfect. It had to be one of the most relaxing weddings I’ve ever documented. They weren’t worried about putting on some huge big production for anyone else;
this was their wedding day.
They took their time, and soaked every minute. They both got ready in the cabin, with their closest friends and family.
Sean shared a special first look with his mama. Their hug made my heart explode, as a mama myself to two sweet little munchkins.
Emma had a first look with her dad, and it was really emotional. Makes me teary to think back on it even now. I could feel his pride and heartache. The pride is obvious to most. But the heartache isn’t always easy for others to understand.
He was so thrilled his baby girl was marrying the love of her life; his sadness came from watching your little girl grow into a woman who was now about to really start her life with her soulmate.
You can be so happy for your baby, but also know they will always be your baby. And it doesn’t make letting go any easier, when the time comes.
Although we thought it may rain that day, the weather was perfect. It could not have been a more stunning.
Up next, was the ceremony. Sean may tell you he had something in his eye, which is true – he had something in his eye alright: his tears over getting to marry his absolute best friend in the world.
Their sweet pup got a front row seat
But then crazy enough, we had a wedding crasher. I can’t believe that’s still a thing?!
Like who would just show up to a wedding, uninvited?
I’ll tell you-
Because if you’re considering getting married in Sevierville Tennessee, as well – you really deserve to know.
Okay, fine. It was a super cute bear that crashed the wedding. And we actually didn’t mind at all. It was a highlight of the ceremony, and made all of our day.
He didn’t stay for the reception though – rude. jk. He probably would have eaten all the food anyway.
Time to sign the marriage license. One of the coolest parts of eloping in Sevierville TN is that your dog can be your witness. That’s right, my friends. Your dogs paw print can be the signature. And you’re good to go. Is that not the raddest thing you’ve heard all week? Unforgettable.
Now for family & group photos!
And now for one of my favorite parts of the day : couples portraits
Emma actually took my breath away. I think I stopped breathing. Like come on, do you see this? She’s a model. God has favorites, I’ve accepted it. But it’s alright, because she is just as beautiful soul-wise, so I’m okay with it.
After we wrapped up some couples portraits, we went back up to the cabin. Some loved ones spoke on Sean & Emma’s relationship. So much love in the air.
It was time to cut the cake, and Emma was PUMPED.
She had one mission, and she absolutely accomplished it.
But Sean was all smiles. He was perfectly happy with giving Emma the winning cake smash title.
Now – some dancing!
It’s moments like these, where I get to capture the raw, unfiltered love between two people, that remind me why I love what I do. Here’s to more love stories that take us from dunes to mountains and everywhere in between!
Sevierville Tennessee, I’m coming back for all the micro weddings – you best believe it. You will be seeing me back very soon.
